Over the years, words like "s crew", "d ick", and "a ss" (perfectly normal words) have eventually taken on darker, fouler, meanings. Should we let these words become curse words, or try to take back their original meanings?

I accept the challenge and will advocate the pro side. First round is acceptance...

It would make no sense that normal words should spontaneously become curse words. We have enough bad words i context, so why would we want more? There are about half a dozen words for a male private part. WHY???????

Pro

We can't "undo" the meanings. People already used the words in these profane ways so it is impossible to change the mindset and use of the vocabulary. Plus, it is completely inevitable. We can't defend a word from becoming a curse. So, it is going to happen, regardless of what we do, so we should automatically side pro.

My constructive from the previous round can be extended for the remainder of the debate as it wasn't addressed earlier. Keep in mind, no new arguments can be made in rebuttals. To my opponent's constructive. He simply says that it makes no sense and that there are already enough bad words. However, it is inevitable. Words change meanings, for the good and bad. We can't preserve words from being change. Thus my opponents argument falls. Because of the inevitability, one should affirm and side PRO.

Reasons for voting decision: I think Pro's counter-arguments were marginal, yet good enough for argument points, especially since they went uncontested. Conduct to Pro for Con's round forfeits.
