Philosophy is a cornerstone of thought and expression. Should students be required to take philosophy classes throughout schooling?

True. The only rational arguments against such a respect-worthy proposition is money and the possible struggle for smaller schools that are unable to hire teachers quickly (this argument can be easily solved by changing the implementation of the proposition).

Well, of course there is the argument that "education should be privatized", but that is a clear garbage position to take.
