I belive that religion should not be expressed in the United States of America and will be opposed to the resolve

Resolved: That Religion should be able to be expressed and/or used in the United States goverment and courts

The first round is acceptance ONLY then we will have two 'build' rounds to build your arguments NO ATTACKING THE OTHER SIDE DURING THIS PERIOD then we will move to rebuttles were you can attack the opponents facts or statements BUT NO NEW EVIDENCE

Good luck to the man or woman who challanges me

Religion should be freely used in the government, due to the first amendment. Taking into consideration that the first amendment says we have the freedom of religion and speech, the government officials should be allowed to freely express their opinion on both religious and non-religious events. Legally, they can communicate their opinions on religion, and if this right is taken away, the rest of our rights will dwindle also.

Freedom of speech is a very important part of what makes America, America, and taking that away from government officials is hazardous because with that logic our freedom to speak of religion, and to practice religion could be taken away along with our freedom of speech on every other matter.

Hello Nicc! Thank you for coming today and the best of luck!

First I wanted to start out by fixing some confusion as stated in the comments

the point of this and I should of worded this better (My apologies) is should any one religion be used as a fact or something to refer too in the united states government or our court system

i am against this because of the diversity that is now rooted into the society of the united states were not all white males who believe in christianity anymore (and if this offends you i am again sorry) but that was a stereotype that america had until the time around the year 1907 when we have seen over 1.25 million people immigrate to the united states in 1907 ALONE

but we also need to look to what tynow over 20 thousand americans each year convert to islam (found at ) and there are many groups of americans who believe in different ways as shown here (also not the best map but the best i can find) http://www.stat.columbia.edu...

I do believe that people should follow a religion and speak about it but not in our government when we send a representative to congress to represent the people who might not follow his faith may it be Islam, Chirstianity, Catholic, Buddhism, are any other religion he should not fight for what his religion believes but what his people believe

Here's a problem with religion in the US Government. There's too much of it. Many states basically force Christianity on their population by banning the teaching of evolution, or changing the word to "change over time," or force putting a sticker on textbooks saying they teach evolution. Many countries from around the World think we're very stupid because of our religious right-wing nuts taking over the government.
