I first and have experienced awful injuries due to rugby at a school level. Not enough has been to stop injuries amongst the young. I personally was pushed too hard and suffered a total of 2 years of pain and suffering because I was forced to play rugby. How can this fair and healthy for a 13 year old kid.
I'm 16 years old and I used to play rugby for my local team and for my school. I suffered minor injuries (cuts and bruises) from the tackling but nothing major. I didn't wear any safety fittings such as scrum hats or shoulder padding. Injuries cannot be used as an excuse. All sports carry injuries. Football you can get tackled and snap your leg. Basketball you can trip and snap your leg. Baseball you can get hit by the ball and be knocked out; the same with cricket. Injuries will happen in any and all sports.
