I think that same-sex schools shouldn't be allowed because first of all, 1. The schools aren't flexible for gender friendly people or people that don't identify themselves as a gender, 2. Having a school of only one gender doesn't teach people to deal with and cooperate with the other gender in the future, 3. If same-sex schools are made just to prevent students getting distracted by their boyfriend/girlfriend in school, then that's not really getting anywhere because not all girls like boys and not all boys like girls, what I'm saying is that there can still be relationships in same-sex schools, that is just schools thinking about heterosexuality and not considering homosexuality. Therefore, I stand against having same-sex schools.

I'd like to thank con for initiating this debate.

I'm assuming that the first round will be our starting arguments, and subsequent rounds will be rebuttals.

In schools with both genders allowed, gender stereotypes seem to be more enforced than broken down. While, in same-sex schools, they break down those stereotypes. Girls will not be so intimidated to excel in more male-dominated subjects like math and science, and boys will not be so intimidated of focusing on more 'girly' subjects like music or poetry.

At a young age, many children want to look good towards the opposite gender. Without the opposite gender's presence, children can focus more on their work, simply because the opposite gender is not there to pressure them to have more fashionable clothes to impress them.

Females mature faster than boys, so that way girls can mature better without males to hold them back, similar to how PE classes segregate boys and girls so that girls won't hold the boys back physically in classes.

I have other points, but will hold back on them for future reference.
