I don't feel children, under age 12, need to bring cell phones to school. I feel that cell phones are a distraction for kids and would cause a deficiency in their learning process. I have seen children bringing their cell phones to play games or look up videos on utube while they are in school.

I would like to thank con for this debate, and will keep my opening statement brief.

While i don't feel kids under 12 need phones at school, they should be allowed to have them. These can be used to contact a family in case of missing a bus or needing to come home sick. Phones also have calculators to help with homework.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro's arguments had more teeth to them, and without rebuttal, they come out on top. Conduct for the 2 forfeits.
