All K-12 classrooms should be limited to no more than 15 students. It has been proven that smaller class sizes increase student engagement, allow the teacher to have more time to give to each individual student, and lower classroom management issues by reducing negative behaviors. Creating a learning environment that is most conducive to learning is essential for the success of our students.
A classroom should not be limited to 15 students for grades k-12. Children need to learn how to interact at a young age with kids they do not know, having a classroom of 15 will not allow them to grow their social skills because they will know all the kids in the classroom already and will not keep meeting new kids throughout the year. The more kids, the more time they will need to know each one, therefore increasing their social skills. If we were to put 15 kids in each classroom, or if there would to be a strict limit, it would demand for more teachers, and what if they cannot find any teachers? will that prohibit the rest of the students to not learn and will they just be sent home? will one tell them to come back next year? because all they could put inside a classroom that fits 30 kids, is 15.
