There should not be any uniforms because then the students can't express themselves.

Schools should not have school uniforms because it restricts their individuality. I believe that if kids can't express themselves through clothing they will try other ways, some of which would be better off undone. children should have the right to wear anything school-appropriate because they are young, so it's their turn to experiment with who they are, what they want to be, and what they wish to accomplish in life. clothing choice can really tell who a person is most of the time.

School is not for fashion but to expand one's learning.
If clothing or hygiene is detracting from learning than yes, a uniform is good.
Uniforms are by it's own name, bring a group of people together, uniformly and can create an esprit de corps (feelings of loyalty, enthusiasm).
Uniforms can possibly hide poverty, because the main focus of schooling is to create mental growth. And in essence, make a student who might not have the latest and most expensive pair of jeans, shoes, et cetera, feel equal with a student who might come from a wealthy background though did not do their homework.
It is all about learning, in my humble opinion. :)
