I will refer to "Pro" as the "defendant."

Opening statement:
(Since the defendant did not specify what would be contained within the vending machines, this will be open to interpretation by me, a.k.a., open to exploitation.) Vending machines in schools pose a serious and real problem to the child population of the world. These machines can contain items such as V-8 or superfood, but they mainly contain sodas and junk food. Source numero uno, states that beverage companies such as coca cola and pepsi spend an annual 3.2 billion dollars on advertising their drinks, with nearly $500 million going to advertising towards the youth (2-17). On any day, more than half of the people in the U.S. consume energy drinks, counting kids, who have it available cheap at school venidng machines.

Why are vending machines a long term danger to children?
Vending machines, as stated before, pose a huge threat to children throughout their whole lives. When kids can get sodas at school for around 50 cents or a dollar, it makes it seem like the ideal choice, purely based on price and convenience. What they do not know, is that while they are children, they are developing a habit of consuming those drinks, and will want to continue that behavior when they are adults. This can lead to a long term obesity pattern in the schools supplying the drinks.

Protect the kids and remove vending machines from schools!
