Like adults who go to work 8 hours a day, going to school is a job. A job to show up and gather the knowledge needed to become a positive impact in society by gathering a skill and finding a job as an adult.

Uniforms reduce non academic distractions
Create a proper mind set for going to their "job"
improves a feeling of community
removes the judgement of an individual based on their appearance.

Ill go into more detail as we debate.

My first experience with uniforms is in the military.

I wore my uniform like everyone else, we all came from different backgrounds and beliefs, but because we had the same uniforms it was much easier to bond and work together. Christians, atheist, country kids and city kids generally worked together despite their background.

School uniforms have a very similar impact, making it easier for children to get along, develop friendships and ultimately work together and focus on the task at hand.

Uniforms have been proven to get children in the mind set that this is their job, and they are there to work and learn. It is the right mindset to be prepared and successful and class and avoid worrying about social issues. Granted there will always be social issues, this is just taking away one more distraction.

Ultimately uniforms do more good than bad.

They improve test scores, reduce bullying, increase a sense of community and give children a sense of a job and responsibility.

The things that are going to affect a child post education is what they learned, not who their friends were or how cool they looked. Thus the big picture is to set up children for success, uniforms aid that.
