Since my opponent has not defined any terms or put any restrictions on this debate I would like to do that now.

1) No use of profanity will be allowed.

2) Forfeit will equal a 7 point loss on that opponent’s side.

3) This debate will revolve in America, the full resolution will be: American teachers should be armed in public schools.

The second amendment reads: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

In our constitution it allows us the right to bear arms and protect ourselves, our right shall not be infringed. If we do not allow our teachers t bear arms in school their rights would be tossed aside and infringed.

How many more times are we going to hear about an evil, sick, psychotic gunman walking into a middle school armed and ready to murder masses of children? How many more innocent children need to be slaughtered before we wake up and prepare our teachers to fight back? The only solution is self-responsibility: we need to arm school officials and give them a fighting chance; a chance to protect innocent life. Once a gunman knows our schools are fighting back the gunman will be less likely to target a school that can defend itself and fight back.

Every second counts in a school shooting. Calling 911 and waiting for police to arrive isn’t going to be good enough, that is why we need to protect those who cannot protect themselves, including the littlest members of our society.

And the way we will protect them is with guns.

If teachers should be allowed to have guns to protect against students, then students should also be allowed to carry guns to protect themselves from the teachers.
