For an extremely long time now the Americans have waited weekly for a new anime episode to arise, then suddenly within hours it is dubbed and aired on TV. Now do you think this is fair? Sure they pay money, however the fact that they take their work and 'customize' it to dub it seems highly arrogant. Whats-more they take their specials and premier openings and even copy the fact of having a voice actor interview.

Now look at this: Japanese

Now slightly 'customized': American

Hello, it's a pleasure to be debating with you today.

I am an anime lover and I personally, do not see it as "customizing" but rather as opening it up to more viewers. I am not one to prefer a side over dubbed or subbed but I know there are a huge group of people who can't not read quickly enough to watch subbed anime, causing them to repeatedly pause the show and play and pause and repeat. This whole commotion ruins the effect of the show. Yes, words or sentences are changed but that's not to customize or change the story, but to make it easier/more clear in English. They copy the voice actor interview or premier openings to try to keep it as close as they can to the original to try and not change the overall feel of the anime.
