I believe that kids need to learn about the Bible. It could be taught in reading classes, but I feel it necessary to instruct kids in moral uprightness as this world's morals become more and more corrupt. This world is out of control with crime and immorality. Something must be done to prevent such disgustingly wrong conduct.

You can't legislate morality. I do believe in sharing the Good News to others, but you cannot enforce morality, by law. That's a form of tyranny, and that is what the Founders of this country were trying to escape. Why not be a good example yourself and spread the word of God to others and in the classroom. Instead of forcing it!

The Establishment Clause was designed to prevent this type of thing from happening. The purpose of spreading Christianity is to do it voluntarily. Talking about it. Not forcing it by law, which is really tyranny.

I have shown you why we should not force it in school. Vote con. Thank you.

People don't pay taxes so there children can be taught fantasy. If a person wishes there child to learn superstitions then go to your tax free church. Having beliefs does not improve our knowledge. A person does not use faith to know things. If you want to understand the way things really are, then you don't need a god.

Lee001 "We teach evolution and all other possibilities over how we evolved but we cant talk about the bible? Kids should have the right be thought this as well."

Okay, lets teach the possibility of children being delivered by a stork.

I wasn't aware that their right to read the bible was under threat. They can learn it at home or in a religion class.

Kids should have the right to know the bible, just as much as evolution is taught in schools.

Science has done far more to both explain the world around us and help us improve our condition than millennia of religion. The bible uses fear, guilt, shame, and hate as teaching tools. The bible promotes child abuse, slavery human and animal sacrifice. The bible has many contradictions. The bible instructs people on who and how to kill. God of the bible never gives the freedom to follow the commandments you like and neglect the rest. Nor does god tell you that you can relax the penalties he has imposed for breaking them. The bible breeds ignorance and intolerance. The more you know the less you believe.

Says anyone who is interested in fact over fiction, I think.

At the very least, says science, which is the process that gave us virtually all the practical knowledge we have. Science holds no idea as sacred or special. Otherwise, we become susceptible to mistaking fiction for fact, and not realizing our mistake.

only people can be persecuted , religion is just an idea and ideas do not garner respect.
