In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 3 clearly states that "everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person". I think Monsanto is violating peoples right to security of person because they are knowingly selling products that cause cancer and birth defects, without it having to be told to the consumers.
Article 25 states that "everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, and housing". Monsanto is making it so peoples right to adequate food for their health and well being is not being recognized.

      • In response to violating a human’s rights.

        • There have been no direct violations of security, nor liberty, nor life. There are only studies that show that this company is producing products that are not good for anybody. Until it becomes a crime to be stupid, Monsanto is not acting illegaly.
        • Everyone does have a right to a high standard of living. Monsanto is guilty of lowering standards in countries where their genetically engineered seeds causes havoc on pricing for farmers and the food being of a lower quality. However, they are only guilty of being evil.
        • Should they be banned? Yes. Will they? No.

In light of recent research into the methods of verification of data used for analysis, I have found that Monsanto cannot hold itself to a high standard of ethics. I forfeit this debate due to the dirty feeling of arguing for them. I'm going to go take a shower now. A shower of flames to get rid of the ick.
