The Raid in texas should not have been allowed. They raided a whole compound of people because of a holks phone call. A fake phone call can give the right for the government to go in and raid all of those families? I dont think so. Say it was an apartment building in New York, and a girl called the police and said she had been abused, so they raid every one that lives in the apartment building. Thats just unlawful. On top of that, they took all phones and cameras away from the people, so they couldnt contact any one or take photos for evidence to support their side. The raid was blown paportion. Just because they want to be isolated from the world doesnt mean that they are abusing their children. The cps has already lost track of a few kids. They STEEL the kids and then cant keep track of them. They dont care about he children, or else the children would have more love and support. The only abuse these children have seen is the abuse of being taken from their families. CHOICES. The FLDS dont offer a choice to their children. The cps didnt really gave them a choice either. They just took the children and wont give them back to their familys even though the kids chose thats what they want. So when the child does choses to go with their parents the cps says thats because you dont kno how to chose, so do it my way. It d=makes no difference when their leader warran jeffs is telling who they should marry, or if cps is telling them who they cant marry. Teenage pregnancy is happening all over the world. The only difference between the flds teenage pregnancy and the worlds teenage pregnancy is that the flds girls can actually take care and support their children and the other girls out in america cant. The raid should NOT be happening, and the government is infriging upon hundreds of american citisens rights. Many rights.

Thank you for starting the debate.

First of all, a phone call being a hoax doesn't mean it's a hoax. If someone calls in and says they're being abused, the police have to respond unless they KNOW it's a hoax. Otherwise, they could pick and choose which cases to pursue.

Second, they're not "stealing" children. It is a matter of protection. The children were being abused. I'm not sure if you're awre of this, but this is more than a matter of teenage pregnancy. This is a matter statutory rape. Rape is a very serious crime, and a mother that subjects her child to that is abusive. Taking the children away from abusive parents was the right decision.

The government is infringing on any rights. They're enforcing statutory rape laws and polygamy laws.

They should Track the call before going in there. Because the phone call wasnt even in texas it was in Colorado. Also were is your proof children are being abused. The girls arnt being raped if they are willing, which they are willing, because if they werent then they would have left. I know, i know what it is really like, for i am a polygamist teen child. So how could it be rape if the woman are willing to have sex, just as much as the men? There was no evidence that the children were bieng abused, the first amenment says freedom of beleif. If the children are being taught to beleive it, that doesnt make so the children are practing polygamy. There for they are not braking any law. The children that is. The parents have the right to teach their children what ever they wish, because of the first ammement. They have the right to believe whatever they wish. The CPS is abusing these children more then what they think that the parents are abusing them. Still there is no proof the children are being abused. This is a remaking of the holacost in Germany. There isnt really any difference. The children are not being abused and the help they really need, is the help to get back to their parents. The CPS went against so many laws, and had no rights to do the things that they did.

First of all, the raid was the result of something else, not a hoaxed phone call:

http://www.cnn.com...

It came from an actual victim.

Second, yes, it is rape. If someone above the legal age of consent has sex with someone under the legal age of cosnent, that's statutory rape, whether both individuals were willing or not, and it's against the law. It's a type of rape. Parents who subject heir children to statutory rape are abusive.

Third, sure, they have the right to believe whatever they want. That doesn't change the fact that polygamy is also illegal.

The police broke no laws (or at least you have presented no laws that they have broken), and this is nothing like the Holocaust. The Holocaust, by the way, is the term used to describe the attempted extermination of the Jews. It involved forcing Jews into labor camps where they were worked/starved to death or simply executed. It resulted in the deaths of about six million Jes.

This raid saved girls from rape.

The two are very different.

Look, the only difference between what my opponent is supporting and NAMBLA is sexual preference. Vote PRO.

Geekis_Khan I declined your debate offer because it is of my wish NOT to do the same debate twice, regardless of if it is against a different opponent or not. I do recognise however that there are certain unalienable rights, however I do not believe health care is one of them.

I would consider debating you on another topic, later down the road. You just give me the challenge! Take care now!
