Taking away defensive 3 second violations and a longer shot clock.
Defensive three second violations is an easy one. Those need to be in to prevent teams from just throwing their big man under the basket and keeping him there. In college it's not a huge deal, but if you have a lockdown center like Dwight Howard or Andrew Bynum, he can completely eliminate any layup threat and force teams to shoot jumpers. the defense can play a modified zone, and eliminate the shot, without worrying if the ballhandler gets by them, because they've got the insurance against easy lay-ups. A longer shot clock is just unnecessary in my opinion, and I'm going to say that I don't have the BOP for that one (or the other one, really), so you should try to justify it. |
