Pro

1. Russia has been extremely aggressive
In 2008 Russia invaded Georgia and annexed part of the region. Now Russia has annexed Georgia and been extremely supportive of Pro-Russian Rebels. And they are threatening Georgia even more by deploying troops near them again.

2. They have been launching suspicious military excersises
Russian bombers have gone near the U.S. and England, bombers that are capable of carrying nuclear weapons. They have also been doing many military excersises around the Baltic region.

3. Putin is oppressing his people
Many people in Russia don't want the former KGB officer as their leader. He has been oppressing the KGBT community and critics of himself.

Con

1. Russia has nuclear weapons
Russia could easily start up a nuclear war with us if we were to ever declare war. So in turn declare war is large scale suicide as we are condemning the world to a horrible nuclear disaster.
2. Sanctions work
The economic sanctions we've been putting in place have succeed in halting russian aggression as they are taking a heavy economic hit as people suffer due to economic downfall.

A war with Russia is an insane idea.

You do realise that this could cause a catastrophic world war 3, resulting in many more un-necessary deaths?
