Argument 1: The US should not reestablish the Glass-Steagall Act because it would cause massive market volatility and uncertainty stifling our already anemic economic growth.

Argument 2: There is little direct evidence that show significant benefit from Glass-Steagall during the years it was law.

"The US should not reestablish the Glass-Steagall Act because it would cause massive market volatility and uncertainty stifling our already anemic economic growth."

No proof to show how this would happen.

"There is little direct evidence that show significant benefit from Glass-Steagall during the years it was law."

OK now that is completely false.

In an interesting reversal, the male who worked to break Glass-Steagall wants to repair the wall between commercial and investment banking. However, in the post-recession, some experts say he should have let it remain intact to start with. Its reinstatement, whether for altruistic or self-serving motives, would likely be a healthy thing for the nation"s limping economy. If you need help with your bank fees, get an installment loan.

Reasons for voting decision: This was a horrible debate. If we can even call it that. There was no argument or points made. Pro wins conduct point for at least participating each round. Good luck to you both in future debates.
