I think the age limit for driving should not be raised to 18+ for the following reasons:
- The current age limit in Canada, is 16. 16-18 is not to far apart, therefore the the maturity level is not that different. If the driver 16-18 years old should start driving, a 16 year old, and a 18 year old, are both likely to make the same mistake, (Drunk driving, texting and driving, etc...)
- 16 year old should be able to have the same amount of freedom, (driving themselves around) as any higher age.
- In order to get your license, you need to be atleast 16 years old, pass a hand, eye test( Which SHOULD ensure hand eye coordination, *unless any accidents or illnesses occurred afterwards*, and pass a written test about rules of road and traffic signs.
- Canada checks health cards, credit cards, or whatever used to prove you are who you say you are, which should ensure that all drivers are legally able to drive.
- New drivers have to have a licensed driver in the car, in order to drive around, ( in their G license.)

Hi, I am proposition and my first rebutle is againts your first point/ reasons of why the age limit for driving shouldn't be raised to 18+, you said I think the age limit for driving should not be raised to 18+ for the following reasons:
- The current age limit in Canada, is 16. 16-18 is not to far apart, therefore the the maturity level is not that different. If the driver 16-18 years old should start driving, a 16 year old, and a 18 year old, are both likely to make the same mistake, (Drunk driving, texting and driving, etc...)

Your point makes sense but also doesn't you cannot compare these ages, its just like comparing an unborn child who is only months old a two year old, both of these ages have a two year old difference. I personally believe that and eighteen year old won't make as much mistakes compared to a sixteen year old.

Your second point is rather easy to rebutle as a sixteen year old cannot be compared to a fifty year old as you said, and I quote; "16 year old should be able to have the same amount of freedom, (driving themselves around) as any higher age."

No they shouldn't as the society we should understand the ages of responsibility.

Your third point is " In order to get your license, you need to be at least 16 years old, pass a hand, eye test" again you cannot compare these things!!!!!! Driving on a busy road with well experienced people and having an eye test is not the same!
