For me, personal, I'm for the lowering the drinking age cause the age of adulthood in United States is 18 and adults should have the right to make thier own choice about alcohol consumption In United States truning 18 receiving the rights and responsibilities of adulthood to vote, smoke cigarettes, serve on juries, get married, sign contracts, be prosecuted as adults, and join the military - which includes risking one's life, why not drinking alcohol?
In 2009 the 21- to 24-year-old age group had the highest percentage of drivers in fatal crashes with blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) levels of .08 or higher " 35 percent. But in many other countries with the drinking age of 18 have better drunk driving statistics than the United States.
Lowering the drinking age to 18 would reduce the number of underage people who are hurt from alcohol-related injuries or accidents due to fear of legal consequences if they sought medical attention.
Finally Drinking alcohol is an enjoyable activity. 18- to 20-year-old adults should not be denied that enjoyment when other pleasurable activities are legal at age 18.

All 50 US states have set their minimum drinking age to 21 although exceptions do exist on a state-by-state basis for consumption at home, under adult supervision, for medical necessity, and other reasons.
I think lowering the minimum legal drinking age from 21 has not stopped teen drinking, and has instead pushed underage binge drinking into private and less controlled environments, leading to more health and life-endangering behavior by teens.

If you look very closely you will see that many countries with drinking age lowered then 21 had better drunk driving statistics than the United States. The rate of traffic accidents and fatalities in Europe have decrease since lowering the drinking age to 16 which I also do not agree with this drinking age. All I'm saying is that every countries should lowered their drinking age to 18. And if you must know in United States have the highest statistics young people from breaking the law by underage drinking. If you lowered the drinking age to 18 would make alcohol consumption a more normalized activity done in moderation.
