The embargo between Cuba and the United States has lasted for 52 years so far and nothing is getting better. In fact things are getting worse. Many diseases are forming in Cuba and are being spread. They cannot be cured, because Cuba does not have the materials to cure this disease. This is because some of the materials needed are manufactured in the US and Cuba does not have the resources to make the tools themselves. The embargo is the same thing as the US government being a ruthless murderer. Many people in Cuba, including Fidel Castro, don't think that US president, Barrack Obama, is not doing his job well. In his mission statement, he stated that he would lift the embargo of of Cuba. He lightened the embargo allowing some things to go into Cuba but after that, Barrack did not even touch the idea of lifting the embargo off of Cuba. Cuba's economy is also failing because Cuba can't sell anything to the US. In the end, the US government is committing a crime of genocide.

Contrary to what my opponent says, the US trade embargo on Cuba is not an act of genocide by the United States. The true genocide is being committed by the Cuban dictatorship, which is the reason the emargo exists in the first place. The United States enacted the emargo after the communist dictatorship of Cuba, aligned with the Soviet union, stole the property of American citizens.[1] The Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 states that the embargo will be lifted once Cuba allows free, fair, multi-party elections, and once it moves towards a free-market system.[2] As of this day, the Castro regime has not relented in its oppression of the people; the embargo is the fault of the regime alone, who put their interests above those of the people. Cuba's failure to progress beyond the barbaric system of communism is the fault of their government, and only their government can solve the problem.
