I don`t think the government should give more money to schools because they already have enough money to educate all students and successfully graduate high school to get in to the university/college they wanted to attend.

My opponent has stated that the government of Canada shouldn't give more money to the schools. Just to clarify I did not know this was for Canada, as I accepted before he posted in the comments stating that it was; however I will still debate him.

Before I begin lets do some fact checks of the budget that Canada has for it's education. 1. Canada spends 3.6% of its GDP for education, do the math with Canada's income and you get that's 21,000,000 dollars spent a year. Canada spends about 6,500 US dollars on each student, which is quite high. Canada is also in the top 10 most educated countries in the world in most sources, and in some cases top 5.

Now education is the most important thing a country could focus on, as it's the county's future. It has been shown that countries that spend more (expect for the United States) on education tend to produce significantly better scores than countries that spend less. Not only does education improve the country, but it also improves the world. People who are educated more tend to get better jobs in which greatly improve the economy with in the country. Not only do educated people get better jobs but also live better lives, thus the living standard would increase in the country, bringing in more immigrants and workers. Also country that has a high living standard has less crime as people are happy and don't have a need to cause trouble.

Canada, and every other country in the world, should always be increasing its budget on education year by year.
