I believe the government should have no business with our diet or food consumption. I disagree because we should be able to live our lives without the government telling us what or what not to eat.

Pro

America has an extremely high obesity rate. According to the CDC, more than one-third (78.6 million) Americans are obese. Obesity creates medical issues, costing a total of $147 billion. If the government controls our diets, then the obesity rate will decrease. Many other countries, such as Japan, have laws enacted in order to prevent obesity. Even if the government is "too controlling," there would most likely be special days (perhaps once a week) where people can eat whatever they want.

Yes Ryuumarq I know that but because e of some people eat too much and they become overweight does not mean other people should suffer I know this girl and even if she eats a huge pot of food everyday she never gains weight.

fyi, there is law already in Japan that you cannot get overweight.
