I believe that the minimum driving age in which a teen can operate a motor vehicle should not be raised to 18 because I feel that teen drivers should have the same right as those back in the early 1900's. On the opposing side many people believe that teens are not responsible enough to operate a motor vehicle due to the lack of life experience and responsibility, but in reality Parental or Legal Guardians should be responsible in measuring the amount of responsibility in their child. The government is also enforcing laws that regulate teen drivers and implementing mandatory driver"s education to allow teen drivers to stay on the road.

Parents and legal guardians hold the key to their child"s ability to operate a motor vehicle. They are the ones that mold and teach their children how to behave and thrive in the real world. Many teens can show that they have enough responsibility to operate a motor vehicle and follow the driving laws that go along with the privilege of driving, but it is crucial for the parents or guardians of the child to implement a healthy upbringing of their child.

Did you know there were 30,000 deaths involving 15- to 17-year-old drivers from 1995 to 2004 in Ohio? These statistics decreased in later years as many states adopted a graduated driver licensing, which give more restrictions to drivers under 18. (eHow, 2014) This law was set in place by many states to generally restrict nigh time, expressway, and unsupervised driving during initial stages, but lifts these restrictions with time and further testing of the individual, eventually allowing a person to obtain a full driver"s license. This gives a chance for teens to gain driving experience to become more experienced until they can obtain a full driver"s license.

Lastly, Drivers Education was also required by almost every state to insure that teens that wished to obtain a license have the proper knowledge and skill set to operate a motor vehicle. Since the implement of driving education in high schools a 38% reduction in fatal crashes and a 40% reduction in injury crash among drivers 16 years of age (CDC, 2013).

In closing, teens should have the same rights as previous generations did by having that feeling of finally turning 16 and ready to take the world by storm. That moment we all dream of, smiling for your Driver"s License. So whether or not you believe in teens driving or waiting until they are 21 and above, ask yourself this question, "Should teens drive or get left behind?"

In my opinion young adults of 18 years old should get their driving license. Just because of the lack of responsibilities from others its not reasonable for the sensible ones to be miss out on the opportunities. Also there is a thing called the driving test and surely the examiner will tell who is not fit to drive a car.
By the time they are 18 they will start to have a busy live and a car would just make things a little easier.

Your title says 21 but you're arguing for 18. I might debate this if you change it.
