Yes I think that there should be more electives in high school that are more involved with the academics that are need. One: people or students to be correct are always complaining about how 'the classes are boring' and lately that has gotten so annoying agree?? This is a topic worth fighting for because you can make more electives in high school that relate to the outside world you know like what if someone wants to go into something like survival you never know there could be a zombie apocalypse any time now. But the thing is that not everyone gets taught the life skills they really need in high school we have to learn everything by our selves, and all anyone can say is that is how they did it.

I accept, and I look forward to a good debate.

First off, are you arguing that people should take more electives in high school, or that high schools should offer more electives?

To address your arguments:
"One: people or students to be correct are always complaining about how 'the classes are boring' " - Necessary classes are often boring. It is good for students to take them, however, as the skills that they learn are used in many high paying jobs (technology, writing, business, etc).

"survival you never know there could be a zombie apocalypse any time now" - I've never heard of a survival elective, nor do I think a zombie apocalypse will happen soon.

The main problem with offering more electives is that they are expensive for the school to offer. A study done by EducationNext found that the average cost of offering an elective at a high school was about $512 per student. As more electives offered, more teachers will have to be hired, which will drive costs up. This additional cost can only be dealt with in two ways. One is by increasing taxes, the other is by cutting costs somewhere else. Taxes are already high enough, and schools typically have a tight budget anyways, so to add more electives, they might have to cut other, more important classes.
