I think they should legalize marijuana because , marijuana has been successfully used to help people with serious health issues, like cancer patients.I dont think cancer patients should have to travel to states where it is legal just to get treatment that can make their lives better and allow them to feel better. Another reason is alcohol and prescription drugs are responsible for almost 200,000 deaths each year if we Legalizing marijuana it would eliminate alot of death's .

In the Western philosophy, the extracting is done in a laboratory, bypassing the body's participation. The body often reacts to these synthetics and isolated chemicals by manifesting side-effectsA279;
All drugs should be legalized 80 percent of these drugs are extracted from plants and than concentrated and chemically manafactured to create a stronger precursor that is 10 times stronger and more addictive.it should be legalized and given in it's naturally plant like state or atleast regulated or find a way to make a less addictive version of the chemically produced drugs.all drugs that derive from plants have health benefits and medicinal usage it's just when you change the chemistry of the ingredients by isolating the properties in it and then cooking it and adding other chemicals in it it creates harmful side effects.most of these drugs in their plant origin have little to no side effect.the reason they are turned into pills is because in pill form they work much faster and quicker how ever as a plant they work slower but in the long run it's more beneficicial for your health.they are even made a pill form of marijuana called marinol which has caused a few deaths how ever marijuana has not like i said any plant turned into pill becomes dangerous because our bodies aren't familiar with these properties so in a lot of cases it treats these pills as a foreign entity and attacks it instead of absorbing it manifesting as side effects.here below are a list of drugs derived from plants and what they are used for in their natural form.by the way portugal legalized/decriminilazed all drugs in 2001 and now the drug rates and the crime rates are the lowest.

2.Crack/Cocaine which comes from coco leaves.

some of the ingredients in cocaiane is powdered cement, gasoline soaks, and battery acid baths are all needed to condense the naturally occurring leaves into an illegal narcotic you can only imagine why it is so strong and addictive.how ever in it's natural form COCO leaves it is used by it's natives for Coca leaves are a mild stimulant,

like coffee, but better. Why better? Because coca leaves provide your body with all sorts of vitamins and nutrients like: calcium, phosphorous, iron, potassium, magnesium, sodium, ascorbic acid, etc and vitamins A, C and E.

5.Sassafras root (ecstasy)
http://www.buzzle.com...

Root beer and sarsaparilla used to have actual sassafras oil in them for flavor. They don't anymore, since the chemical in the oil, safrole, is now a controlled substance. Distilled from the roots and bark of the sassafras tree, safrole is a key ingredient in the manufacture of ecstasy. Not in its original form, of course. It is the treatments with formaldehyde, paint thinner, and drain cleaner that make sassafras oil such a delightful thing to put inside your body
All drugs should be legalised. That would put organised criminals involved in the drug trade out of business and half the prison population (incarceration fuels more crime). Legalisation would drastically reduce the price and criminals would no longer find opportunities to make money from drugs, the same way as they don't find opportunities to make money from cigarettes and alcohol. Simple supply and demand.

Sadly, simple supply and demand also means an increase in the number of addicts, lured into the habit by lower prices and easier availability. But they would be less at risk than addcits right now. Legalised heroin for instance would be a lot less dangerous that the type you find on the street right now because it would be purer. Also addicts would not make dosing mistakes which are responsible for the vast majority of ODs.

Legalisation would solve a massive crime problem and replace it by a relatively manageable public health one. All systems have their drawbacks, it's about choosing the one with the most amount of benefits and the least amount of problems.

One way legalisation of hard drugs could be implemented is to make them freely available on a doctor's presctiption. A idea like that was envisaged by Ron Paul, a doctor himself. It would work a bit like that:
1- Doctors would prescribe heroin, cocaine or any other hard drugs and would, at the same time, act as gatekeepers. This would be an opportunity for them to inform and educate potential users about the dangers of drugs and give them a chance to change their minds or quit.
2- If the they still want the drugs, regular visits to the doctor would allow him to monitor the health of the addicts and intervene as needed.

For this to work, full legalisation is need. A mere decriminalisation is likely to increase the number of addicts (albeit to a smaller extent) but would keep criminals in control. You would get some of the problems and almost none of the benefits. Most people vastly underestimate the extent of which legalisation would hurt organised crime. It would be an absolute disaster for them, so much so that I believe there would be attempts on the life of politicians should they be close to implement such a strategyA279;
