First, accept the debate and then we will make our arguments. The final round will be a closing statement of the debate and a rebuttal. NOT A NEW ARGUMENT

Con

So all I say here is "I accept"?

I really don't understand some of these formalities.

Pro

Torture is used as a way of scaring people into doing what the government wants them to do. Only a small fraction of the population must suffer from torture for this to be attained. The purpose of this is for the government to gain authority and order over people. However, torture may result in violent revolt and as a result those people will be tortured.

Let me clarify what I meant by this argument. Torture should be allowed in certain types of government like absolutism but not so much in democracy unless the people vote for it, I don't see why they would. None the less, it should be ALLOWED and not MANDATORY.

I am so confused what you're even arguing for....your most recent statement did not make much sense.

Agreed with before the debate:--Vote Checkmark0 points
Agreed with after the debate:--Vote Checkmark0 points
Who had better conduct:--Vote Checkmark1 point
Had better spelling and grammar:-Vote Checkmark-1 point
Made more convincing arguments:Vote Checkmark--3 points
Used the most reliable sources:--Vote Checkmark2 points
Total points awarded:31
Reasons for voting decision: I cannot grant conduct points to either side given that they both forfeited multiple times. I admit that Con forfeited one time less than Pro did, however I do not feel that that caused him to have better conduct than Pro. Given that Pro actually posted an argument, while Con simply claimed victory in the last round, by default I must award the argument points to Pro. Spelling and Grammar goes to Con because Pro had a bunch of random words capitalized and ended one sentence without a period.
