We should not be able to genetically engineer humans because in doing so, we take away the right of diversity and individuality that each of us possess. It is also not fair to those who are genetically engineered.

Thanks Con for instigating this debate.
The resolution has Pro, me, affirming that we should be able to genetically engineer humans.
Great.
Since I saw definitions for none of the terms of the resolution, I will supply my own, but first, my case.

*Reproduction*

Ok, sure; humans aren't likely going extinct anytime soon, and the human population is ever increasing.

And it's clear that humans have also spread out and colonized most of earth's non-ocean surface with our massive road, rail, and water travel systems.

While I understand those who think we've destroyed our earth with the expansion of the human population, I don't think this means that we should stop having babies; more humans isn't the problem.

Instead, let's continue having babies and expanding our species, so that we can fortify and propagate for all homo sapiens.
Which is why I am strongly in favor of human reproduction, which is the ability to genetically engineer a human.

I'd really love to debate with you. But first, can you clarify how it's not fair to those who are genetically engineered? Do you mean that is in their diversity has been taken away?
I just want to fully understand what you mean before I engage in the debate with you. Thanks!
