Shakespear should not be banned in schools as it teaches us about ENglish History, Our english culture and Shakespear even if it was a disguse made words up that today are in the english dictionary. English language was first coined by William Shakespeare which should be a good enough reason in itself.

I think it's really important, we should be learning about anything that is so well known in the world, especially Shakespeare.

I have found that all the analysing texts in English at my school are incredibly easy and the symbolism etc. is extremely obvious. Shakespeare is so much deeper, and to understand it you really have to get into the characters and think about every little thing, which is fantastic.

And in Drama, Shakespeare in drama, I it is really fun, you know the character's motivations but it discovering your character doesn't just stop there, there is so much more and so many thoughts and desires and feelings that are shown. It would be so interesting to play.

Apart from the educational things I think Shakespeare teaches us life lessons and helps us all learn the history, culture and everything about Shakespeare and our English past.

I concede we ought be taught about William Shakespeare which is essentially what my opponent advocates. My argument however is that "Shakespear" does not do any of the things my opponent says and there is no reason why we should be taught about him. The burden of proof lies upon my opponent to show why we should be taught about Shakespear.

Shakespeare is taught in British schools both in English literature and English language and he should be taught in all schools over the world where English is the first language as so much of the English language was first coined by William Shakespeare which should be a good enough reason in itself.

And i leave it to my opponent to prove why shakespeare should NOT be taught in school not if what i am saying is true which you can obviously say BUT what the statement says.

The resolution doesn't mention shakespeare.

It mentions shakespear who doesn't exist.

Your spelling error causes the debate to be about a person who doesn't exist and means I win the round.

No you have not won this round as spelling mistakes are spelling mistakes dont mean that you win. Shakespeares writing is know through out the world and taught because of its culture and history involved.
So i end by saying Shakespeare should be taught because of its context and all educational side of things. And its part of our history.

Con

The spelling mistake proves the resolution false.

Georgia, I would debate you on this, but you must make the argument useful for the world. PLease just revise the stuff about English history and challenge me with almost the same argument. I would be happy to debate you on it.
