Should we begin to consider war with North Korea?

I will be arguing that we should begin to consider and prepare for war with North Korea.

Con will argue that we should not consider a war with North Korea.

Please use and site sources. 1st round is for accepting the debate.

I look forward to a lively debate.

Should we consider War with North Korea?

My answer to this is statement will be hard. I feel we shouldn't consider war with North Korea unless they start being attakive and rude, if they don't then we shouldn't be harsh. If both countries don't want too then why start crap for no reason??!

In recent years, North Korea has become a far greater threat than it ever has been before.

Through their several tests, it has been confirmed that North Korea has nuclear weapons that are capable of destroying cities and killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. Already armed, they are going through a phase of proliferation (1) and actively attempting to increase the effectiveness of their weapons. They are trying to perfect their delivery system through the development of improved ballistic missiles and mobile launching stations (2). Although this particular test ended in complete failure, North Korea has achieved many successes in their quest for nuclear capabilities. For this reason, we cannot say they can't advance. They have proved us wrong before.

But when will we have enough? The United States had lines drawn in the sand. North Korea was never supposed to have nuclear weapons. We had nuke deals with the nation that they have failed to recognize, instead literally blowing the provisions up in our faces with the tests of 4 nuclear bombs. In a similar fashion, they defy sanctions and international laws in regards to ballistic missile tests. The North Korean government has shown their inability to follow simple law, shown complete disregard for respecting boundaries, and destroyed our ability to be able to faithfully exercise diplomacy.

Now, with a 5th nuclear test rumored to be in the works (5) and missile tests being the new norm, we must be ready to enforce the law of the land. The world cannot have a maverick nation acting this recklessly in their pursuit for a weapon of mass destruction. They could easily destroy Seoul in the blink of an eye with the weapons they have now. This ability combined with their incessant aggression is a combination that could mean the deaths of millions. We cannot take this risk.

4 points to Pro (Conduct, Argumentss). Reasons for voting decision: Con forfeited for unknown reasons. Maybe a lack of time, an inability to write, blindness, drunkeness, forgot his password, whatever. It is REALLY disrespectful to do that! So Pro gets the points :) -- For arguments, Pro cites many sources to back up his claims. For example, Pro shows how MEANIE the North Koreans are and how they are continuing to arm themselves, which is contrary to our interests in the region. Therefore, as he provides intellectually stimulating arguments, he wins. I hope this is up to the standards. I hope I analyzed this debate enough!

[*Reason for non-removal*] Votes on full forfeit debates are not moderated unless they vote for the forfeiting side.
