We should not execute all violent criminals. Executing these people would bring chaos and more violent offenders. Families of the criminals would want revenge and start targeting political figures and officers. Not to mention the possibility of executing an innocent person.

Over the course of history, nations such as Ancient Rome and Greece and Egypt have all executed prisoners, whether domestic or P.O.W.'s. They gained respect for cracking down on these "rebels" (whether for violent crimes or just speaking out) and were feared by about every other country. Only 10% of convicts nowadays are innocent, and that's just the crimes that do not have complete evidence (such as video, audio, fingerprints, et cetera). I think it's worth the risk; I know a rapist off the streets and put in the morgue would make me feel safer about letting my children play outside or taking walks.

"Over the course of history, nations such as Ancient Rome and Greece and Egypt have all executed prisoners, whether domestic or P.O.W.'s." FIrst of all we are not as uncivilized as those ancient civilizations, we are not barbarians. "They gained respect for cracking down on these "rebels" (whether for violent crimes or just speaking out) and were feared by about every other country. " America is already feared by many country and being feared even more will only create political strain. Not to mention executing people for speaking out is against the 1st amendment. " Only 10% of convicts nowadays are innocent" That is killing %10 of innocent people and factually is NOT worth the risk due to the potential of creating terriost witch in turn would end up killing more people.

The Ancient civilizations were not barbarians, they just have different paradigms as we do. If they were, how could they do things in architecture that even we can't with machines? America is not so much feared that groups like ISIS or Al-Qaeda don't terrorize or antagonize our people domestically or in foreign countries. People don't have respect for the United States like they used to, we aren't doing anything to gain respect. We're sitting around, letting these people spit on the thought of our nation's name, and we're worrying about some NBC anchor misleading people. The U.S. needs to be feared, and the way to start that is at the heart of our own country.

Con

In conclusion, ancient civilizations were barbaric and evil. And the USA is the best country in the world and we are by far the most respected country in the world. By the way if it weren't for us every other country would be 100x more uncivilized. Not that they are civilized.. Especially the UK we spared their butts in the civil war and they should be USA territory.

Con refuted Pro's argument. Yet, Pro insisted that his position was true without a counter-point opposing Con. I'd suggest Pro to site sources saying the USA needs to be feared.
