Leaving Iraq would be the worst thing that we could do for our security. This is because of three thing.

First of all the terrorists would not stop at the Iraqi borders but they would follow us home . To understand this one only needs to read or watch a video made by osoma and they would see what I speak of. They mean to killl everyone of us and will not stop until the west is brought down.

Second the country of I raq would fall apart and the hard work that we put in there would all have been for nothing. The country is not yet prepared to deal with a full scale US desclation. The Maliki(sp) government would fall victim to the exact same things that took over rule in Palestine. The extremist would destroy the government and Iraq would be made a haven for terrorists.

And Finally the soldier would have died but yet their mission would have failed. This is absolutely wrong. their deaths would mean nothing, we must win we must push on and we cant let the terrorists control our resolve and destroy it with fear. This war is the main issue of our generation. We have been given a call to finish what we started and we must answer that call for the sake of not only this generation but future generations as well.

By we I am assuming that you are reffering to the Coalition of the Willing (Britain, Poland, Moldova*, et al). Dissent on this if you wish.

The most prominent of these nations that is "in" Iraq, that is having a milatary occupation force, is no doubt the United States. However a variety of factors exist that indicate that this mission is faulty. First and foremost is just the plain cost. So far nearly half a trillion dollars has been funnelled to fund this milatary intitive for the US alone. The USA has a big budget, but not anything that big. Internally the USA really needs to think about funding more social programs and in addition to this, the USA is has an imminent recession coming, a out of control deficit (about 500 billion a year) that is detterring many investers from keeping the T-Bill as valuble as it once was. For any measure of success to be acheived in Iraq no doubt this sum will increase greatly, and it would be best for the US to cut her losses now and try to stabalize her own economic secity by issuing control of the deficit.

As for the other countries, most of them are also loosing some moeny (though not that much) and are not really high up on the terror threat list. If they were withdraw, no doubt this would do much to salve terrorist wrath and would actually help their security.

"First of all the terrorists would not stop at the Iraqi borders but they would follow us home."

What makes you think this? US presence in Iraq is only incresing their middle-eastern unpopulairty, and if it were to act slightly more isolationist people would be less inclined to hate the US. This is strange seeing as Iraq would be the big loser in a pullout (not the US), but voters are not always known for their intelligence. Also if Iraq was left in anarchy, likly the Kurds would try to split off, leading to disagreements with Turkey and it would make them more angry at Turkey, Syria, Armenia, and Iran (all wish significant Kurdish areas) leaving them to fight among themselves, thus mitigaitng interest in attacking US interests.

911 killed about 3000 Americans, which was ver lucky for the terrorists. New security measures have helped prevent more terror attacks, and another major attack is unlikly to happen very soon. Hwoever 4000 Americans have been killed in Iraq, already the amount of American lives lost outwieigh terrorism murders in entire US history, and althuough whether or not more civilians will be killed in the future we know more US soldiers will be killed if they don't pull out.

Your turn McMurdo

*All nine troops. Moldova went all out on supporting Prezident Bush, eh?

these people (such as mcmurdo22) are just brainwashed by others who instilled fear into them saying "we're under attack!"
as a new yorker, after 9/11 i said "no s%#t we're under attack!"
it is when they said "we have to stop this... let's go to Iraq!" that I got confused and asked myself (among 90% of the people in NYC who have always been against the war) "how is Iraq a problem?"

how will they follow us home? Saddam never attacked the United States. Iraqis hate us and they want us to leave, but not because they wanna follow us home and kill us all, it's because they want us to stop going into their homes and killing them!
