Should we protect endangered animals but deal with the consequences? The endangered species act does seem to protect animals but that act can take your land and make it a sanctuary if an endangered animal is found on your land multiple times or they can take your land if it is very suitable for the nearest endangered species. Ed Sherman is a Louisiana land owner. Most of his land borders a Mississippi Gopher Frog sanctuary. Recently bureaucrats have considered taking his land and make it become a refuge because of the ponds that would be great for the frogs. The fifth Amendment sates "No person shall... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
