Pro

R1 is for acceptance.
R2 is for opening statements (no rebuttals).
R3-R4 is for rebuttal.
R5 is for summations.
cipeylsrs

Con

Sorry but I do not accept.
Debate Round No. 1

Pro

No problem, I understand.
cipeylsrs

Con

I tricked you.

Now for my opening statements:

God annihilating us sinners makes no sense, we deserve to be spitroasted by Satan and his boyfriend Gaddafi for eternity.
Debate Round No. 2

Pro

You certainly deserve to be spitroasted in hell forever for tricking me out my opening statement. But God and I are way too merciful to allow that to happen. Instead of allowing you to be tortured forever, we will make you to cease to exist.
cipeylsrs

Con

That goes against every aspect of God's Narcissistic personality disorder.

It's liek a teacher sitting on your face as you lick her out until you choke to death instead of giving you a detention.
Debate Round No. 3
DoctrinallyCorrect

Pro

Most male students would prefer your analogy of hell over detention. Hell is like oral sex? Stimulating idea, it just leaves me short of being fully intellectually aroused. If this is the climax of your argumentation, then the readers should feel very unsatisfied.
cipeylsrs

Con

Either religion is true and you suffer for eternity in hell or ther ei sno hell.

Checkmate, no annihilation.
Debate Round No. 4
DoctrinallyCorrect

Pro

This argument is fallacious. Their is nothing about eternal torment that is essential to religion, and especially not Christianity. There are large and growing segments of Christianity that argue for an annihilationist view of hell.

No checkmate at all. You did nothing to prove that religion and eternal torment are inextricably linked. In fact, just the opposite is true. The fact that many orthodox Christians believe in annihilation demonstrates that the two views are not mutually exclusive.
cipeylsrs

Con

You had burden of proof not me. You gave 0 proof of your case.

I explained that religion is about eternally punishing those who dare to defy god. This can't happen if he annihilates them.

Reasons for voting decision: conduct to pro because he was tricked, but Pro failed to show that sinners will be annihilated in hell. Come on, you only need one line from the bible...
