I believe that skipping a meal is way better than eating junk food. While both are bad, eating junk food causes people to gain weight while skipping the meal keeps those extra few calories off. Eating junk food can also start bad habits to where it will occur everyday and then an eating disorder is slowly starting to form. Later the outcome will be becoming over weight

When you skip a meal you are more likely to binge eat the next time you have food. This is because your body is hungry and needs to make up for the loss of food. Skipping meals can also lead to fatigue and deprives the body of nutrients.

Having some food in your system is better than having no food at all.

It would be quite the opposite than what my opponent has to say, if you skip meals you are more likely to develop and eating disorder because your body will already be used to going without food.

There is no way to binge when skipping just one meal. It's perfectly healthy to skip one meal a day. Plus just because your extremely hungry after skipping a meal having a regular meal will still satisfy the hunger, so if the person who's eating has common sense when they get full they will stop eating. Unlike when eating junk food which will start unhealthy eating habits.

Actually skipping a meal is not healthy for you. Skipping meals affects your blood sugar levels which helps provide you with energy throughout the day.

People who skip meals also have problems concentrating throughout the day and have a hard time making decisions as well.

Well eating junk food doesn't allow you to obtain the needed nutrition to stay healthy. This causes you to feel fatigued and have a lack of energy needed to complete daily tasks. Also eating junk foods add high levels of sugar the but your metabolism under stress causing your pancreas to produce high levels of insulin to prevent blood sugar spikes, known as a sugar rush. Since junk foods, along with fast foods, don't have efficient amounts of protein and good carbohydrates your body crashes. Junk food also contributes to poor performance and obesity and it can damage you heart and liver.

As an added bonus junk food can lead to depression and addiction. people who eat fast food regularly are 51% ore likely to develop depression than those who eat little to no fast food.

Having some food in your stomach is better than having nothing at all. Our bodies need food to function and when you don't get that you will have a hard time trying to everyday tasks.

Eating junk food over time is what can cause obesity. I am pretty sure that if you eat a bag of chips once in a while you are not gojng to turn out that way.

Skipping a meal is better because even eating junk food causes you to be unable to perform daily tasks. Junk food offers little to no nutrients that doesn't help the body in anyway. Even though you may may a bag of chips every now and again that soon turns to twice a month, then twice a week, then daily, then twice a day. Every now and again is the start of habit.

Neither one of these options are healthy. When you skip a meal you deprive your body of necessary nutrients and nourishment. When you eat junk food you deprive your body of necessary nutrients and nourishment. How about don't do either? Instead of junk food eat some fruit, nuts and drink water?Instead of skipping a meal eat some fruit, nuts and drink water? Seems like one simple solution to both problems.

The bible defines junk foods as deceitful food. To me that is food that tastes good, looks good, but is not good.

Too many people use food as entertainment instead of fuel for these physical bodies.

I agree. Except I hear msg isn't bad for you unless you have extremely high amounts or have a rare sensitivity to it. Glutamate is in all sorts of natural foods and is produced by naturally in your body.

Skipping a meal is not detrimental to the human body, hence the body during the day is categorized into catabolic state. This does not negatively effect the body if a meal is neglected. Rather, the consequences of consuming a substance(s) that contains little to no nutritional value, detriments the body more so than skipping a meal. Additionally, as defined by you, packaged products are indicative of msgs, excessive sodium content, preservatives, which have negative effects on the bacteria in the gut (stomach and intestines), and typically, while depending on the food, contains a copies amount of sugar or undesired fats, such as trans. I'm inclined to accept, but your definition of junk food is vague at best.

The resolution states, in other words, not eating and avoiding a meal, or in lieu of, consuming a meal consisting of junk food. Define junk food and is it skipping only one meal?
