Smoking is not good for because smoking can lead to death or lung cancer. Smoking kills your lungs. Smoking is one of the worst things kids or adults can do to their bodies. Yet every single day about 3,900 kids between the ages 12 and 17 start smoking. Most middle school students don't smoke — only about 1 in 16 does. And most high school students don't smoke either — about 1 in 5 does (that means 4 out of 5 don't). Smoking and tobacco use can cause cancer and heart disease. smoking and tobacco use can cause cancer and heart disease. Cigarettes and smokeless tobacco kill hundreds of thousands of Americans every year.

The resolution is "Smoking isn't Good for you" and my opponent is Con which means they are against the resolution and I am pro so i am the side that proves how Smoking isn't Good for you. My opponent may have gotten confused and thought she was supposed to be approving the resolution instead of challenging it, if so she has already lost the debate because she doesn't even know what she is doing.

Since I have no clarification of that, I will give my arguments, plus I would like to add that my opponent did not even state definitions which I will gladly do to convey to the audience a more understandable debate; even if my opponent did not take the time to do so.

Smoking- Engaging in the smoking of tobacco [1]
Good- : of a favorable character or tendency

1- Smoking kills many people.
According to The World Health Organization smoking related-diseases kill one in 10 adults globally, or cause four million deaths. By 2030, if current trends continue, smoking will kill one in six people. This clearly shows how people are dying because of smoking and if it leads to the complications that may lead to death, then it is clearly not good for you.

2- Pushes the US government even more in debt.
According to the EPA smoking costs the United States over $150 billion annually in health care costs. The US is already in trillions of dollars in debt, putting the government into an even greater amount of debt creates peoples jobs getting cut, more taxes, or even public places to be closed; any of these could affect any person resulting into a not so good situation.

3- Smoking creates changes in womens body that is unusual.
Smoking More than half a pack a day may cause infertility or irregular menstrual cycles in women.
Menopause often occurs earlier in women who smoke than in women who do not. [3] Does this sound good to you?

4- Smoking causes dangers during pregnancies and after the pregnancy.
Pregnant women pass any chemicals they take in (from food, tobacco, alcohol and so on) to their unborn children through the placenta.Women who smoke during pregnancy can slow down the baby's growth by reducing the amount of oxygen and increasing the amount of carbon monoxide that the baby receives during a critical time when its brain and nervous system are developing.Babies born of mothers who smoke frequently during pregnancy are on the average 7 ounces lighter than other babies.Smoking while pregnant increases the chances of spontaneous abortions (miscarriages) stillbirths and premature labor.Women who smoke have higher risks of giving birth to babies with birth defects or abnormalities.Mothers who smoke can pass nicotine to their children through breast milk. Infants born to mothers who smoke are more likely to develop colds, bronchitis, and other respiratory diseases such as asthma. The odds of developing asthma are twice as high among children whose mothers smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day.
All of these are NOT good for you and all facts are from source number 3.

5- Smoking could potentially kill not just yourself, but people around you.
The EPA reports that 3,000 nonsmoking adults die of diseases caused by exposure to second hand smoke every year.
Secondhand smoke causes coughing, phlegm, chest discomfort and reduced lung function in nonsmokers.
US infants and children under 18 months of age suffer some 150,000 to 300,000 respiratory tract infections (lung diseases such as pneumonia and bronchitis) every year, leading to 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations.
Children exposed to secondhand smoke at home are more likely to have middle-ear disease and reduced lung function.
Some 2 to 5 million US children suffer from asthma; of these, about 20 percent experience more asthma attacks and more severe attacks than their fellow young asthmatics, due to secondhand smoke.
Secondhand smoke contains more than 4,000 chemical compounds, including carbon monoxide ( which poisons the human body), ammonia, formaldehyde, and other poisons. 4 of the chemicals – benzene, 2-naphthylamine, 4-aminobiphenyl, and polonium-210 are classified by the EPA as known carcinogens—cancer causing agents. Potentially hurting the loved ones around you isn't good for you, losing a loved one could create a tragic memory which is not good for you.

I will not argue with my opponent's one argument because i completely agree with it, it also helps to prove that Smoking isn't good for you which is the resolution I am trying to prove. My opponent completely did not have any arguments that proved how Smoking isn't good for you is false while I proved that Smoking isn't good for you with 5 arguments.

This is why I urge you to vote Pro, Thank You.

Who are you even talking to, theLwerd? I don't think anybody had ever referenced you in this entire commenting until now.

And I find your first comment rather ironic, come to think of it.

Lmao. No thanks, I wasn't disrespectful. Beleive whatever you want, the fact that your calling me disrespectful for simply accepting a debate challenge even if the challenger made a mistake is plain absurd in itself.
