Social media has given us the opportunity to spread news quicker than ever. For an example, we now have intel on how children, adults and teenages are experiencing the war between Isreal and Palastine through Twitter and Facebook updates. Social media is not a disease like many think, we are more attune to the rest of the world and what is happening, thanks to social media.
I understand that social media allows news to travel much faster, but there is a dark side to it. There will always be good and bad, I simply am expressing one side. As for international news "Israel and Palestine", this can easily be accessed by TV or the actual website of a news station. That part of social media is not bad, just unnecessary.
Without social media we wouldn't get a direct update from the actual sight to know what is happening. Nowadays people who are at the "scene of the crime" tweet, post, update their blogs about what is happening at the very moment. WIth the help of social media this information spreads like wildfire. If we take the "isreal and palestine" crisis for an example, yes we do get updates from news stations about it, but they don't tell us how the citizens experience the war, like social media does.
