Solarman claims to be a buddhist. I cann't believe this is so. Judging by the hatred present in so many of his debates he just cannot be a buddhist, Not a practicing one anyway. He may call himself a buddhist but if he doesn't practice buddhism then he can't actually be one. Its like the people who call themselves christians who have never gone to church, even seen the bible or have ever thought about god. Solarman calls himself a buddhist as a joke, simply to mock buddhists.

What do you know about Buddhism?

Who have you read?

What are the main tenets of Buddhism?

How are you able to discern whether I subscribe to Tibetan Buddhist philosophy or not?

Why is the fact that I am pointing out the THREAT that militant Islam, Communism, the far left sympathizers, all of whom espouse the OPPOSITE of the teachings of the buddha, namely death , destruction, suppression, big government control, anti-freedom and suffering ?

Buddha taught , in short

* ending the path of suffering and the rebirth/ death cycle

* being empathatic and sympathetic to others

* discovering the deep self

* being unconditional love and truth

* eliminating anger from one's psyche

* putting others before oneself - ending selfish behavior , the source of all suffering

and so on and so forth

now, I am NOT a good buddhist by any means, but WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO TELL ME WHAT I AM AND WHAT I BELIEVE

you likely dont know the first thing about Buddhism

I suggest you start with Robert Thurmans books 1st

Solarman1969 may typically lose, but this debate didn't have much debate to it on the instigator side. If this were tennis then it would be a game to 15 where InsidRJ showed up without a racket and Solarman can let the ball bounce as many times as he wants.

Looking back...

"

If you consider suffering to be synonymous with existence, as Buddha did, either you favor death or you favor suffering.

If you do get kicked after losing 100 debates in a row, then Solarman is with us for another hundred - at least.

Solarman, unfortunately wins this one. It shouldn't have been set to one round.

Reasons for voting decision: solarman was mean but he did point out that pro didn't show he knew anything about Buddhism, and plus he never said he was a good Buddhist or anything.

Reasons for voting decision: Solar man is him. Other people can't judge whether he is a Buddhist or not without knowing for sure. Solar man, as himself, knows himself better than others can. Thank you.

Reasons for voting decision: It would be difficult for Pro to meet the burden of proof. Con correctly cites tenets of Buddhism and admits he is not a good Buddhist. It's fair to hold religious ideals and be struggling to overcome personal obstacles to achieving them. Pro called upon knowledge of his opponent outside of the debate without giving any examples; debates must make claims with cited support. Pro didn't make his case. If you are going to debate Buddhism you should at least know to capitalize the spelling.
