Riveting debate.

Edit: Just to clarify: I started the debate, then canceled it, then edited it to specify that they were Round One sources. That apparently uncanceled it. Unfortunately, this means that I now need to start a new debate for the next two rounds.

I used this method rather than a thread or comments because unaccepted debates usually go away to never be seen by anyone but the creator, so it's the least intrusive way. I apologize for this gaff. I wouldn't mind if some of you watched it to balance out anyone who does vote.

I didn't realize that editing this debate would uncanceled it. Just don't vote.

You should've just let the challenge expire--it wouldn't count as a forfeit, the debate would just be canceled, and would still work as his source link.

"What is your argument here? You just listed sources for a list of diseases, there is no argument."

It is a meta-argument on the nature of debate. A typical debate has a resolution which has to be affirmed or given warrant. Grape is a Pyrrhonian skeptic and is taking a meta-position on debating by offering a resolution which is not a statement of knowledge as it can neither be affirmed or denied - it is just is. His OP is therefore just a further list of facts which also can neither be affirmed or denied - as they are not propositional statements which require a truth value. Note the real subtle point here is that he does not say "These are Sources for Disease Outbreak Debate" as that would be a propositional statement and it could be challenged, he simply says "Sources for Disease Outbreak Debate" and thus even if it could be refuted that the links given were sources it would not refute the resolution as it can not be refuted as it has no inherent truth value.

Reasons for voting decision: Con knew this wasn't a debate. Shouldn't have accepted it. Voting pro on a debate like this will hopefully discourage this from happening again in the future.
