Con

Rules are simple, my opponent will have to debate me on one of these 3 topics

- Pizza is better then tacos.

- Slurpies should be illegal to fat people.

- The US should lift the Cuban Embargo.

- The US should invade Costa Rica.

You will be pro for whatever topic you pick. One important rule though....... you may not communicate with written words. You must find a way to argue me, without any written letters or numbers in any form. We are a go....

I disagree that Pizza is better then tacos. According to this random internet poll, 66% of people find Tacos better then Pizza.

I'm not sure what these pictures mean, but I'm sure the audience wont either. Now more evidence. According to this source, Taco Bell, a fast food service which sells both Pizza and Tacos items, makes more money on tacos then pizza. Please explain that.

So, by my opponents logic, Pizza is better then Scooby slurping up cotton candy next to a taco. My opponenent is doing little more then rambling at this point. Now, according to fox news, Taco Bell is peoples 4th favorite fast food. And we already established that they sell more taco's then pizza.

It seems my opponent is trying to insult my intelligence. This is unacceptable, and I demand he be stripped of the conduct point. That guy is obviously some kind of inside joke that he's using to laugh at me over the internet. Symbolism.

- 1 conduct point please

My opponent is dead wrong. According to Yahoo, the majority of people say tacos are better for you.

Since the rest of my opponents arguments don't make sense, I will skip them. I suggest that he uses clearer pics in the future.

I'm not sure why, but my opponent has clearly broken the rules by using sentences.

'One important rule though....... you may not communicate with written words. You must find a way to argue me, without any written letters or numbers in any form. We are a go....'

I give up. If my opponent is making rules that do not apply to him, but apply to me, then I have no wish to debate with him. Thank you.

My opponent is obviously confused, and put a lack of effort into reading the acceptance round. If he read it, he would of noticed a couple things.

"You will be pro for whatever topic you pick."

"You may not communicate with written words."

"You must find a way to argue me, without any written letters or numbers in any form"

I think what he thought that "you", applied to me as well. While this is a common mistake people make , it is also an error. Due to the distortion of how we lightly use the American language, I find it essential we use words correctly.

I hope my opponent can come back next round, now that he is clarified on the actual rules. Or if not, then I request the round be scrapped as a conduct violation.

You have an unfair advantage, as you can make your point much more directly than I can. I thank my opponent for this idea, but I do not wish to debate him.

Your being a poor sport. If you don't like the rules, don't accept. If you are unclear on the premise set by the rules, then contact me. If you want to call me a pathetic troll, do it over personal message. But don't sit here and claim I tricked you into doing this. As you had full responsibility in clicking the accept button.

So, I'm allowed to set whatever regulations I want. You read through them, and you agreed to the rules. Its called a troll debate, and they are meant to be fun. Now, if you look at my debate record, I ussually debate serious world affair topics.

Reasons for voting decision: I feel that Pro's error was an honest mistake, so I'll give him a conduct point; especially since he was so gracious about it. However according to a literal reading of the rules, Con is correct, and thus gets arguments.

Reasons for voting decision: Arguments points because con broke the rule of not talking. While con tried to play that the "you" only referred to his opponent, he admits that in common english language that it is standard to apply to all. Con tried to pull a semantics win after the fact. Since this was not specified in the beginning of the debate, "you" holds the common understanding in a way that makes the debate fair and balanced. Con loses conduct for admitting that he structured the rules to limit his opponent but not himself.

Reasons for voting decision: There is dictionary definitions that show the word 'you' can be applied to an indefinite person. Example:Used to refer to an indefinitely specified person; one: You can't win them all. The only definition pro could have assumed by the outline mentioned in round 1 is that the word 'you' applied to all debaters in the debate. There is semantics and than there is unfair semantics. Con used unfair semantics when issuing this debate. No points can be awarded for arguments because the debate in my mind was canceled when pro realized the abusive semantics and decided not to participate in this ridiculous debate, and therefore gets the conduct point. I want to reiterate. The word you can be used in an indefinite way and it is reasonable and doesn't go against at least one of the definitions to assume the rule should be applied to both debaters.
