Hello, My opponent! Firstly, I thank you for accepting this debate. I would like to clearly lay down the rules of the debate before going any farther.
1. No capital letters except when the rules of English grammar state that you need to use them. LIKE THIS IS NOT OKAY.
2. Round 1 is going to be an introduction, R2 an opening argument and R3 a rebuttal round.
3. No foul language, Misspelled words or insults. Maintain proper dignity while speaking.
4. Under no conditions will a participant in the debate not use proper terms if and where required.
Lastly, Thanks for accepting!

Thanks for your acceptance of the debate. Here I would like to state that firstly, We may explore new horizons but we should never leave our culture behind. There are some people good at sport and literature too. They are in every way the equals of scientists and researchers, So let's give them an equal opportunity too. Let's actually take the initiative not to leave these people behind. When you say that every person is equal in the eyes of the law, They should be receiving equal chances to do what they're good at.
Literature and sports are more relevant in the smaller scheme of things, And that's what really matters- the small things in life. The bigger things like rockets and satellites aren't exactly creating that much of an impact in people's lives. And here there is an argument I've heard every time I took this stance: TV and cell phones were born out of science too. Well, They are important, But literature is one way you can use them. I have always felt that literature is the best route to learn a language, So let's spend more on it because it's a bit hard to understand science without literature.
Look forward to the rebuttals,

You're completely right, We should not leave our cultures behind, However, Science and research has more of a long term significance than literature and sports. It does things that they can't, Like, Curing diseases that could've wiped out mankind. Literature doesn't exactly need funding, Unless it's for paper to write on and money to publish more books, While science would need money to send rovers to planets and cure diseases, Which is much more important than literature. Things like rockets and shuttles do actually make a huge impact. You never know if in the next 40 years you could be living on mars. TV and cell phones are important, But they only use literature when a website developer wants it too, And that's not really literature! It's coding, Yet again science. I do agree that we need to spend more time on it, But it isn't really as important as science.

Thanks for your argument. Well said, Indeed. I would like to point out how you did not mention sports at all in your R2 speech. Prevention is better than cure, And most diseases can be prevented by sports and eating healthy. What have you got to say about that?

Well you wouldn't even know about being healthy or the concept of physical welness if no science were there. Lets just face it, Science is behind everything, Without it we'd be lost. Without other things like sports we would be okay.

Science is the one that came up with the concept of physical wellness itself!

But given that science has no substitute for physical activity and health, We should give sports priority too.

Exactly. Sports are fun and benefit the body, But the don't have a long term significance besides in the word of entertainment.

For the most part, Yes, We should be spending more money on science and research. Money really shouldn't be put towards sports in large amounts. If the money goes to literature, It will be more beneficial than if the money went to sports. So, Overall, Here's the list of most important to least important:

1. Science and research
2. Literature
3. Sports
