Standing up for the day after pill and not abortion is hypocritical. They're the same thing.

There are many people out there who oppose abortions claiming the immorality of the act. Whilst the oppose abortion, they support tools such as the day after pill.

I believe that such individuals are hypocrites considering the fact that a day after pill is in my terms an abortion though a less gruesome one. Abortion cuts out the possibility of a new life due to the realization that the body developing in the woman, does have the potential for life.

In the same way that there is potential for life after the sperm and the egg have met, there is also potential for life before they meet. therefore, one might as well stand up for abortion if they want the day after pill.

One cannot run the argument that there is a possibility that the sperm and the egg will not meet therefore a day after pill is morally correct because in the same way a woman can have a spontaneous abortion and life is not formed.

This isn't about the rights or lefts about abortion but about the similarities in the concept of a manual and induced abortion and the day after pill

There is a huge difference in the morning after pill and abortion. To believe in one and not the other is very different and not hypocritical.

The morning after pill is suppose to be for emergencies like rape, or a broken condom, maybe a drunken act. It is used as an emergency birth control. Its easy to access.

Abortion is ending a life that has already been conceived and has a beating heart. One who has an abortion is choosing to end a life for their own selfish reason.

Sperm can stay within a female for up to five days and conception doesn't happen immediately. To take the Morning After Pill it has to be within 72 hours of sexual intercourse.

Abortion is after there is confirmation that one is for sure for sure Pregnant. Waiting for this can be a week or two to actually be sure that there is in fact a life starting to grow.

You have your views backwards. Abortion doesn't prevent a life from forming. Abortion ends a life that has already formed. To prevent a life from forming you use the pill, condoms, and so on. Your view is skewed and going by your logic, condoms considered the same as abortion yet I don't ever see people protesting that. Never heard about the Trojan factory being bombed like clinics are. Prevention and destruction are two different things that you seem to have confused. The problem arises when people try and use abortion as birth control. I'd never ask my wife to get an abortion and she would never consider getting one. In a couple months we will have our 7th child. You think we grew up dreaming of having that many kids? I love my kids and wouldn't trade them for anything but you think the last 3 times we didn't look at each other and say "Ahhh damn, again?" Of course we did but that still wasn't an option for us and now I couldn't imagine life without any of them and it will be the same for our new one. We might have to add another zip code to our house but still couldn't live without them but at the same time you think we want 8? HELL NO and because of that we will both be getting fixed. 7 times we said no way to abortion although it would have been easier and because we want to use birth control to prevent an 8th we are hypocrites ?

I have so much to say about this topic but I don't feel the need to waste my time.

One thing though, you said abortion is murder, the pill must be taken within 72 hours, and there is a heart beating during an abortion.

So the time in which you prevent the life is the problem then? Whether or not you're stopping a heart, you are preventing life from happening?

So what defines murder then? Is it the prevention or the "stealing", for a lack of a better word, of a life? Because if so, then the Pro side is correct. The con is a hypocrite.

If the con side is saying that prevention of life isn't murder, but preventing an already formed life is murder, then that's a horrible defense. It's the same thing only one is more developed then the other.

Yeah cool, you got raped at 12, have no sex education so you don't know what a plan B pill is, your body isn't done developing what it needs to have a baby safely but oh well, let's protect an unborn child instead of an already 12 year old girl who has a future and a life ahead of her. Have the baby, break something in the process, live with guilt for your whole life about the adoption and have to let your rapist see the child. I support both Plan B and abortion, get out of people's health decisions, it's not your decision.

What makes abortion a bad thing is the fact that you are killing a living thing. A fetus has a heartbeat. When you kill something with a heartbeat then it is the same as murder. With the pill there are no living beings. There is not a heartbeat therefor you aren't killing anything. If you think that pill is the same as abortion for preventing pregnancy than you must feel the same about condoms or birth control pills as well.

Abortion is a medical procedure on a developing fetus. The pill is a preventive measure taken soon after sexual intercourse, while you can disagree with both they're hardly the same thing.
