They are multiple reasons why all statistics, polls, and quotes are flawed.

Before I begin, I would look to say I would appreciate a debate where are arguments are stated and stated briefly. It makes topics a lot easier to actually debate.

So my points:
1.) Bias
Quote is misquoted by leaving out a previous statement.
For example I can say
"Iran's president says he will attack the United States"
when the real quote says
"Iran's president say he will attack the United States, but the citizens of Iran do not support this statement."

2.) Opinion
Thomas Jefferson said....
so what? why does Jefferson's opinion give any validity to a statement. I might be smarter than him, yet he is considered a valid quote. What makes one person worth quoting over another?
***Thus quoting is flawed

3.) Outside Force
Quick Example
In 2007, Ice cream sales went up 20% in month X
In 2007, More people died of drowning in month X
Conclusion: Ice cream causes drowning?
Try, Month X is August and it is the summer
***Thus statistics are flawed

4.) Limited Resource
Lets take the Iowa Caucus Race as an example.
If you do not make it to the voting center by 7PM, you don't vote. So many of candidate Y's supporters might miss the deadline. Thus, a false reading is shown.
Another example
When national polls are taken of Bush's approval rating, did you or your parents go and vote for his approval? No. Were random people in random places called? Yes. Thus, there is a chance that the people happen to show invalid results.
***Thus polls are flawed

In Conclusion, we can see that any quote, statistic, or poll can be flawed. A combination of these

Once, again, my opponent failed to contest any of my arguments.
My opponent has one chance to attack my points, but it would unfair to let him make new arguments for his side because I would have no chance to attack them.
So
It is said a monkey scores a 25% on a multiple choice quiz.
I am not a monkey
I scored a 20%
According to this, I am dumber than a monkey. But I am in all AP classes, so this makes no sense. Therefore, statistics are flawed :)

"quotes are flawed"

-Cody

HA! Now its a quote!

Therefore it must be flawed, making it so that it is not flawed, making it flawed, etc.

Is it just me, or did the pro not prove that quotes, statistics, and polls were flawed? It seems to me that he is advocating that the USAGE of the above has room for flaws, but statistics, polls, and quotes themselves? I received a blow to the head by a tennis ball earlier and am still feeling a bit whoozy, but I'm pretty sure his case harldy supports the resolution.

Well of course they are, that's hardly debatable, but the extent of reliability could be an interesting topic

This could have been a very interesting debate. Too bad they didn't actually debate.

Whoa! I had an hour left to post my statement for the round and it forfeited me before the time it said on my computer. I guess that's what I get for doing it late but that really shouldn't have happened. I'm sorry that it did that. This is my first debate here and if it's some sort of persistent technical issue I would have had no experience with it. If you would like and allow, I can write a summary of my arguments in the comments section so that you actually have something to say this rebut in this round. Sorry for that unexpected inconvenience. :(

I definitely agree that polls are flawed. I can also see your point with quotes and outside force.
