I believe the use of steroids in MLB should be allowed. Steroid use has been a part of American baseball for decades and has saved the game of baseball, allowing the sport to continue to grow and remain competitive while allowing the players to reach their maximum potential.
If you oppose the use of steroids in baseball, are you aware of the benefits steroids induce? Hopefully this will be a fun debate :)~! === I assume that the first round is acceptance? |

My opponent has made no arguments.... C1: Useless Steriods do nothing to help you play baseball. Hitting a Ball - Steriods only helps to increase your size/bulk. When battting, hand/eye coordination is far more important[1]. If anything, steriods will only slow down arm movement[1], making it harder to hit a ball going at ~90Mph. Not to mention, research has shown that PED's or preformance-enhancing drugs do not add any such boost to baseball players [2]. Most of the energy that is transferred to the bat is generated largely by the large muscles of the thighs and torso [2]. Steroids mostly affect upper-body strength [2]. Pitching a ball - Studies found that steroids actually do not help pitching [3]. C2: Unpopular Furthermore, steroids are ultimately resulting in unhappiness among fans [4]. What would you do if the person you look up to did something illegal and unethical? If anything, steroids contribute to less and less interest in baseball, in all, diminishing the game. C3: Health Risks PED's have many risks that can affect a person's health. There are cardiovascular damages whereas baseball players might be negatively impacted [2]. Furthermore, liver toxicty will increase, damaging an important organ [2]. Finally, there are muscoskeletar problems in which people may experiance [2].
