Students should have physical education every day. It gives people extra time to exercise. Most kids are obese. This could bring down the obesity rate. P.e. teaches teamwork, and let's kids have fun finding their active talent or quality. Most obese kids get bullied. This will give them time to exercise so then they won't be made fun of.

Alright, thanks for starting this debate!

I will be organizing my arguments alphabetically.

A. Assuming that your class periods are 45 minutes long, and running for 30 minutes burns about 300 calories. In a typical gym period, you will spend about 10 minutes getting dressed, and another 10 stretching. now, you only have 25 minutes to do what ever (and that's assuming that the kids will be able to get dressed in athletic clothing in 5 minutes, then get dressed into school clothing in another 5). That 25 minute period will not be spent straight sprinting. Fridays will be spent on dodgeball, Mondays will be spent doing sit-ups and pushups, and the class might do a slight jog around the gym once a week. The numbers don't add up, and when put in perspective, making a P.E. class mandatory everyday is excessive.

B. Since the majority of kids in school for some reason cannot grasp the concept of hygiene, it seems strange to me to claim that kids are bullied for being fat, when kids are bullied for smelling just as much, if not more. I've been more inclined to hand a kid with bad breath gum more then I've ever thought about being rude to a fat person.

C. Finally, your average can of coke has 210 calories. The average amount of calories burned in a 25 minutes workout, assuming you went all out, which no P.E. class on the planet does, is about 200. Do you see where the numbers aren't adding up? If you want kids to stop being obese, then make a P.E. class mandatory once every other day, then offer a course which is also mandatory on the off days that teach about general well-being and health. I think that kids aren't ever taught just how many calories are in that Twinkie, nor are they taught the weight several a day will put on. It's simply hypocritical to make kids work out everyday, then offer bags of Doritos and cookies in the lunch room, and not teach kids how to say no.

Wtf, a 6 month voting period? Why so long? You should shorten that to like 10 days, 1 week etc. that's exaggerated.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct - Con. Pro forfeited nearly every round in this debate which is rarely acceptable conduct in any debate setting. S&G - Tie. Both had adequate spelling and grammar. Arguments - Con. Pro failed to present any rebuttals to the counter-arguments presented by Con. Due to Pro's failure to maintain the BOP, Con wins arguments. I would also like to applaud Con for not forfeiting the rounds either and would say that if you ever find yourself in this situation again simply type in "extend arguments". Sources - Con. Pro failed to utilize sources in this debate whereas Con did. This is a clear win for Con.
