Pro

Students shouldnt have homework because it is a waste of time people just do it to get it done or copy others.
wowmasterolearyshane2015

Con

Although homework can be copied , that is only due to the fact that the homework we receive is too long. Homework is beneficial to understanding a subject and furthering your knowledge on the selected subject. Therefore Homework is beneficial to knowledge as long as it is a reasonable length to prevent anxiety.

Homework is just redoing the things that were done in class. It is busy work. We spend six hours a day in school learning why do we need to have more learning at home. People have lives. They have sports and practices to attend which do not occur during the school day . Students also need relax time. Students who are mentally exhausted after their extracurriculars causes students not to be able to focus the next day.
wowmasterolearyshane2015

Con

Students don't do sports if they hate the sports, sports are meant to be fun for students and used to relieve stress. Students are exhausted due to lack of sleep not homework. people spend too much time focus in on their school work people see homework as a test rather than some help. It is not meant to be something you have to do like a slave, but to help you understand the subject and apply it to some life.

Pro

People, especially high school students, spend countless hours typing up an essay or finishing that last assignment at 12 or 1 in the morning. If people did not have homework they would be able to sleep earlier instead of spending their nights doing homework. You also have the students who rush to get it done and dont care. What is the point of having homework if one person does it and it gets passed around the lockerroom.
wowmasterolearyshane2015

Con

As I recently stated homework is something to do as help not just as the perfect grade. It is done to understand a topic and not kill yourself. Also, essays can easily be done in advance spaced out through a week rather than doing it the night before. Stressing about homework and sleep is due to a students inability to take time on their assignments and spread the work out over a course of a week or more.

KIds lack the motivation to follow your Idea to space things out and if they push things further because it gives them a break.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. Procrastination is something that all students are guilty of at some point. Without homework students would not have anything to push off and would be happier.
wowmasterolearyshane2015

Con

You just sealed your argument and agreed with me. You just said that students make the homework hard rather than the homework being hard. Procrastination is due to students.

Homework is waste of time and all students hate it. People who enjoy what they are doing are more likely to give their full effort. Homework is not one of those things. People like to do things they enjoy.

I didn't even argue the topic . I found it was pointless to make any actual type of argument since he made absolutely no real argument and didn't post one fact.

Student go to school for 6-7 hours a day then when they get home they have to start again? What is the point of that students should be free to do as they choose when out of school and not be held down by work.

Students need homework to practice in order to review what they have studied at school. Homework is not a waste of time for the students who really want to learn something and improve their skills.

Homework is useful when the students need extra practices to achieve a better understanding of the lecture. 50mins in class is not enough to receive all that important information and it's proven the student learns more when they do their homework.

Homework is necessary, but there should not be as much pressure to get the work done in a certain amount of time. Homework helps students develop time management skills and a stronger work ethic. It is necessary in order to give students the skills needed to complete their work in their future careers.

Mr. Bergeron, you grammar is completely terrible. You are arguing against homework yet you can't even spell shouldn't or use proper punctuation because you are way to involved in what is know as text message dialect. Although work is a pain, it leads to success and eventually money,

I would have to agree with the wizard that commented. Bergeron, that argument was not scintillating on any level. Your argument is baseless.

The argument against homework seems to be: waste of time, it gets copied, students procrastinate and are stressed out. Not convincing on so many levels. Make a case that moves beyond generalizations and easily refuted points. No solution or alternative is offered. Sorry -- Cons wins this one easily -- and their arguments weren't necessarily the most scintillating!
