Students should have a study hall because they can get their homework done quicker than usual and will have more time after school which can result in better grades. This study hall will be as strict as usual classes and will have a teacher present to supervise the students to make sure they are not socializing instead of working, so the students will most likely get a lot of work done.

Students should not have a study hall because it is a waste of money to pay a teacher to do nothing but supervise when the students could easily go to the library and study in there (under the supervision of the librarians).

Study halls are cheaper because having 2 teachers proctor a study hall is less money than having more teachers teaching an actual class. In result u have no sweg. retweet if u cryed

You specified that the study hall would be used after school, when teachers are not teaching. As such, a study hall will cost more because if there was not a study hall, there would be no teachers doing anything and therefore not being paid.

Libraries are usually open 24 hours, so it wouldn't cost more to allow people in to study.

I also disprove of my opponents unnecessary concluding comments as they do not contribute to the issue at hand.

First of all big guy, I never said that it would be after school. Study hall would result in students less stressed and that is beneficial to their health. With more time after school they can eat and sleep better resulting in students having more time to socialize with friends. All of this results in a happier time in school which can lead to students making less bad decisions.

Homework is usually done outside of school hours, so I presumed you meant after school, or at least after lessons during the student's free time. I do not see any alternative in this presumption; classes are for learning, not for completing homework.

The only argument I need is that there are already places for a student to go and not be distracted. The library is the main example. The school does not need to waste money paying supervisors in a study hall when they are not necessary.

There are over 120,000 public libraries in the USA alone, and schools often have their own private libraries for students to access. [1]

Reasons for voting decision: Arguments are even as both parties were arguing completely different things. In the future pro should invest more effort in wording his resolutions to be crystal clear.
