This debate will have 3 rounds (not including this explanatory paragraph.)

The first is the introductory round, with each opponent giving an opening statement on their position. During the first round, each opponent will state 3 main points in regards to their arguments, and briefly expand on each.

The second round is the explanatory round. During this round, each opponent will go into detail about each point they have made in their introduction.

The third round is the response round. Each person will have the opportunity to respond to each of the arguments their opponent has presented.

My name is Sara, and I believe that teachers should cut down on the amount of tests given to students. If you are going to accept this debate, please simply state your name and your position as this paragraph technically counts as Round 1.

The amount of work that a teacher signs should not be cut back. It helps the student by letting them work with the skills, content, and concept that they learned for the day. This also gives the parents a chance to see how their child is doing in school, and what they are learning. School and home work makes good study habits. Schoolwork also helps students improve their grades. Would you want a teacher that gives you less assignments or more? If the teacher were to get more, and you were to get a bad grade on one assignment, it would not affect you as much if you were to have fewer assignments.

I agree that the amount of works that a teacher assigns should not be cut back. However, there's a big difference between homework/assignments/projects/labs/etc and tests.

Tests are stressful, and often students spend hours of their lives studying for them. Students might lose valuable sleep just to memorize something so they can regurgitate it the next day and then not remember it a month down the road.
Western schools have placed such an importance on memorization and regurgitation that teachers are teaching kids not to actually learn and enjoy the material.

Instead of assigning so many tests, I think teachers should try to interest and engage their students with the material they are teaching. They should assign more projects and allow students some freedom to think outside of the box. Personally, I've noticed that teachers often teach kids how to do questions on tests instead of explaining to them how individual components of the questions work. A good example of this would be physics. We are taught how to do questions and what numbers to put in the formulas, but we are not taught why this information is relevant to us. We are also not taught in a matter that allows us to enjoy each and every subject.
In today's education system, we do not learn how to problem solve. Instead, we learn how to memorize, regurgitate and lose sleep over an exam that isn't even going to matter in the long run.
