 Pro 10 + 4 = 2 Is correct in non euclidean geometry. Prove me wrong :PReport this Argument Con Thank you for posting this debate :) Ok let me get out my pencil and paper. 10 +4 ____ 14 Well, it would seem that 10 + 4 = 14. Besides, since you're the instigator and pro for the resolution you have the burden of proof. "Prove me wrong :P" Well first prove yourself right. :) Thank youReport this Argument

PRO obviously shifted the BoP to CON. Therefore, PRO wins.

Purple, what is it with you and dividing by zero?
Posted by Kefka 9 years ago
Thank you. At least you didn't just see the equation and say "uhh 10 + 4= 14...uhhh ur wrong dude cuz like ur wrong". Thank you very much Purple.

Sorry i didnt see that part about "non-Euclidian geometry". Still made 10+4=2 though.

I said I might as well try.

Right stick with me a moment.

say x=1 and y=1 ok.......
so x=y
if we were to multiply both sides by "x" the equation would still be correct

x²=xy correct.

now if i was to subtract "y²" from both sides the equation still remains correct.

x²-y²=xy-y² correct.

and this is equal to (x-y)(x+y)=y(x-y) correct.

the (x-y) on both sides cancel each other out.

leaving x+y=y or 2=1

Now lets have a look at 10 + 4 =2

10= (2x2)+(2x2)+2

as we know 2=1
so 10 = (1x1)+(1x1)+1

(1x1)+(1x1)+1=3

so 10=3 haha.

now onto 4.

4=2x2

and 2=1

so 4=1x1
so 4=1

now onto 2.

2=1+1

and if 2=1, 1 must be equal to 2.

so 2=2+2=4

so 2=4

10=3
4=1
2=4

3+1=4

so 10+4 does equal 2!!!!

Well, i needed to make certain you weren't offended; apparently this is a gentlemanly thing to do =)

Kefka, You were more clear before you clarified.

Haha, Roy, if you read that and got insulted at all, I was just poking fun with an anecdote :P

Hmmm Roy, it seems your system of education has failed, because it seems many people don't even know who Euclid is =) I'm going to re open this probably and challenge Diety. I don't know much about his style of geometry [Euclid], but I"m sure that the Internet will teach me enough so I can show people what's UP!

You should've made it at least a two-round debtate. Diety was able to show us how he got upon an answer but you were not able to. 10+4 does not equal 2, while 10+4=14. Diety wins.
