First off i would like to thank my opponent for joining the debate.

I will start out with some arguments that would seem to go against the infallibillity of the Bible

(All cited Biblical sources can be found in https://www.biblegateway.com... )

Genesis creation account is flawed

In Genesis 1:1 the bible states "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" which seems to make sense; But then in Genesis 1:2-4 states "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness."

The problem with this account is that it states that light came after the creation of the world which we now know is not the case, light was there far before the earth existed. We know this since we found a galaxy roughly 13.3 billion light years away (1) and that would mean the light has travelled that far (2) Whereas the earth is only (I use this as a relative term of course) roughly 4.6 billion years old (3)
In addition to this the sun and the stars (Genesis 1:14-16), according to the Bible, were created after light was (Genesis 1:3).

The Bible implies that the Earth is flat

When the devil was tempting Jesus he (Satan) took Jesus up to the top of a mountain, one so high they could see that they could see all the kingdoms in the world (Matthew 4:8; Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.) This implies that the world is flat as due to the curvature of a spherical earth you could not see the entire earth at once.
We know very well that the earth is round (4, 5, 6) (though some would disagree but let"s not get into that here)
Contradictions
The Bible is unclear on whether astrology is acceptable as in Genesis 1:14 the Bible states " And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years" and in Luke 21:25 where it states "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars."which would seem to point that astrology is okay or at least correct under biblical standards but then in Daniel 2:27 it is stated that "Daniel answered the king and said, "No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked," as well as in Isaiah 47:13-14 where astrologers, among others, are condemned to hell ("Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it." )
The bible also contradicts itself on whether anyone gets into heaven... (8)
As well as whether there has ever been a just person (9)

Noah"s ark is implausible

We all know the story of Noah"s ark but does was it really possible? Bill Nye makes some great arguments against it
https://www.youtube.com...

Some key points

In roughly 0:30-0:50 Bill Nye states that there is no evidence of animals swimming up to escape the flood
In roughly 1:15-1:40 How did all the animals from, say, Australia get all the way to the ark in the middle east and not leave any fossil evidence?

Also in general, with all the millions of species (7) and the fact that the ark carried all of them (Genesis 7:15, "And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.") How did they all fit? And how did the predators not kill the prey?)

In conclusion it would seem that the Bible is not infallible.

I look forward to my opponents proofs of the Bible and rebuttals of my points.
